Countertop Microwave Oven

I accidentally ran my microwave oven without any food in it. Is it damaged?

Running the oven empty for a short time will not damage the oven. However, it is not recommended.

Can I use my microwave without the glass tray or roller guide?

No. Both the glass tray and roller guide must always be used in order for the food to cook properly.

Can I open the door when the oven is operating?

The door can be opened anytime during the cooking operation. The microwave energy will instantly switch off and the time setting will maintain until the door is closed and the START pad is pressed.

Why do I have moisture in my microwave oven after cooking?

The moisture on the interior of your microwave oven is normal. It is caused by steam from cooking food hitting the cool oven surface. To prevent paint damage to the oven cavity, it is recommended to wipe it down when moisture is present.

Does microwave energy pass through the viewing screen in the door?

No. The metal screen bounces back the energy to the oven cavity. The holes are made to allow light to pass through. They do not let microwave energy pass through.

My microwave shuts down when cooking popcorn or baked potatoes.

All of our models are designed with a Safety Thermal Cutoff that will shut the unit down if the oven cavity or magnetron exceeds a preset temperature. Once the unit cools it will automatically reset. To prevent this from occurring, cook all foods, including microwave popcorn, in/on a microwave safe dish which will isolate heat away from the thermal cutoffs.

Can I stop the colons from flashing?

There is no programming function to prevent the colons from flashing.

How can I stop the beeping when I press the buttons?

There is no programming function to disable the beeping.

Are mounting brackets available?

No, these are only for countertops. If you want to, you may purchase an over-the-range microwave; these are designed for that purpose.

Over-the-Range Microwave Oven

Can I open the door when the oven is operating?

The door can be opened anytime during the cooking operation. The oven will automatically stop cooking and the time setting will maintain until the door is closed and the START pad is pressed.

My microwave's interior light and display dim when used at different power levels. Is this normal?

This is normal. When using less power, the light will dim.

Why do steam and/or vapor escape around the door and steam droplets form on the inside of the oven door?

This is normal. When food cooks, steam is given off. To prevent paint damage to the oven cavity, it is recommended to wipe it down when moisture is present.

Refrigerator

My refrigerator seems to be too warm inside.

  • Check that the door has not been opened too frequently or for too long.
  • Check that the interior circulation is not obstructed by having too many goods stored. (The fridge is overloaded).
  • Did you store anything hot, without first cooling it to room temperature? Is there sufficient clearance around all sides and above the fridge?

My refrigerator is making unusual noises.

Is it wobbling? Re-level it and check if it now operates normally.

Have any objects fallen behind the fridge? If so, remove them and check if operation is now normal. Are any containers inside the fridge vibrating or resonating? If so, rearrange them then check to see if operation has returned to normal.

I accidentally damaged the evaporator during defrosting. Can it still be used?

Unfortunately, if the evaporator lines have been damaged the unit will not function. It is also not repairable.

The side of my refrigerator seems to be warm/hot. Is this normal?

This is normal. The condenser coils are on the side, and they do become warm during normal operation.

Wine & Beverage Cooler

The compressor turns on and off frequently.

Make sure the door is not open too often.
Make sure the door is closed completely.
Make sure the door gasket seals properly.
Make sure the unit has sufficient ventilation.
In order to reduce energy consumption, refer to the owner's manual for proper thermostat settings.

The cooler seems to make too much noise.

It is normal for the unit to make noise while operating. The sounds you hear are the compressor operating and the sound of the refrigerant flowing through the system. At the end of a refrigeration cycle, you may hear gurgling sounds caused by the flow of refrigerant in the unit.

My cooler door won't close properly.

Make sure the unit is properly leveled.
Check and make sure the gasket is clean.
Check and make sure the shelves are in their proper position.

Can I run a small appliance on top of the cooler?

No, you should not operate any appliance on top of your cooler. You also should not run any appliance from the same circuit as the cooler.

When I get my new appliance, should I plug it in right away?

No. Before connecting the appliance, let it stand for about 4 hours. This will reduce the possibility of malfunctions in the cooling system due to transport handling.

Ice Maker

The "add water" indicator is on, and there is water in the reservoir, but my ice maker is still not making any ice.

We recommend using tap water. Purified water is not a good conductor to electricity and can possibly cause the "add water" indicator to activate.

Can un-used ice be left in the ice maker?

The ice will hold for only a couple of hours. Eventually it will melt since it's not a freezer.

Can I leave my unit plugged in?

We recommend unplugging the unit when not in use.

My unit is leaking water.

Make sure that the drain cap is closed properly.

Can I use an extension cord?

We do not recommend an extension cord. If you must use an extension cord, use No. 14 AWG minimum size and rated no less than 1875 watts.

Freezer

My chest freezer's lid does not seal tightly resulting in frost building up along the top portion of the freezer.

To adjust the lid to improve the seal, remove the hinge covers located at the back of the unit. Loosen the hinge screws attaching the hinges to the freezers. Press down firm on the lid to help seat it properly. Tighten the screws loosened previously.

Can I install my unit outside or in a garage?

The unit is designed to be used indoors, in a temperature environment.

How do I defrost my freezer?

Please refer to the owner's manual for defrosting instructions.

What temperature should the freezer be at?

The unit should be in the 0 to 8 degrees Fahrenheit range. However, when you first turn on the freezer or put a lot of food in it, it may take up to 24 hours for the freezer to reach this temperature range.

Air Conditioner

Can I store my air conditioner on the side?

No, it must be stored laying flat, top side up.
