How to Make Perfect Hard-boiled Eggs

Hard-boiled eggs are incredible. Not only do they make a great snack, especially if you are in a hurry, but they can also be used help round out a salad and pack in the protein. Adding hard-boiled eggs to your diet adds good fats to your body to keep your heart healthy. They also pack important vitamins to help protect your eyes and keep your bones strong.

Follow these instructions on how to make perfectly cooked and easy-peel hard-boiled eggs. First, place the desired amount of eggs in a large saucepan and cover them with 1-2 inches of cold water. Slowly bring the water to a boil. Once the water becomes a continuously boil, remove from the heat and place lid over the saucepan. Let the eggs stand in the hot water for 15 minutes.  

Once 15 minutes have passed, immediately place the eggs in a colander and run under cold water until they are completely cooled; or you can place the eggs in a bowl of cold water with ice cubes.  Placing the eggs in cold water immediately stops the cooking.

Once the eggs have cooled completely you can peel them. To peel the eggs, gently tap each egg on the counter and roll gently between your hands to loosen the shell. Once you have peeled all your eggs store them in an airtight container in your refrigerator for up to 3 days.
